Privacy Policy
We believe your journal should be a place where you can be honest, personal and yourself. Here's how MyJournal+ handles the information you choose to give us.
Your journal is personal.
This Privacy Policy describes how MyJournal+ ("we", "our" or "us") collects, uses, stores and protects personal data when you use our website and applications.
We prioritize privacy and keep journal content private by default.

🎨 Preferences
Certain preferences, such as themes, may also be stored locally to support the application experience.
Why do we use your information?
We use your information to provide and improve MyJournal+ and its optional features.
- Core service: Store and display your journal entries, moods and account information.
- Optional features: Deliver notifications, AI insights, analytics and other features you choose to use.
- Security: Support account recovery, abuse prevention and protection of the service.
AI works when you choose to use it.
AI-powered insights are optional. MyJournal+ does not run automated AI analysis of your journal simply because you have an account.
We process the journal content needed to generate the requested insight through the secure server-side AI workflow.
- We process only the journal content needed for the requested insight.
- HTML is stripped and long entries may be truncated before processing.
- The system is designed to redact obvious personal identifiers whenever possible.
- AI API keys are handled by the backend and are not exposed to the client.
- The requesting user's Firebase authentication and Premium access are verified server-side.
- You can simply choose not to use AI Insights if you do not want your content processed for that feature.
Notifications are optional.
If you enable push notifications, MyJournal+ requests permission from your browser or device and may store a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token associated with your account.
- You can disable notifications through your browser or device settings.
- Signing out triggers an attempt to remove the associated notification token.
- You can contact us if you need assistance removing notification tokens associated with your account.
How we protect your information.
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by MyJournal+.
- Data is transmitted over HTTPS.
- Journal and account data are stored using Firebase services.
- Firebase security rules are used to restrict authenticated access to user data.
- Trusted backend services handle sensitive server-side operations.
- AI provider keys are stored on the server and are not exposed to the client.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. We continuously work to reduce unnecessary exposure and protect the information entrusted to MyJournal+.
Services that help MyJournal+ work.
MyJournal+ relies on selected third-party services for authentication, storage, analytics, payments, notifications and optional AI functionality.
- Firebase: authentication and data storage.
- Google Analytics: aggregated usage analytics.
- Stripe / PayPal: payment processing.
- AI provider: optional AI-powered insights.
We aim to share only the information necessary for the relevant service to perform its function.
Where advertisements appear.
Advertisements may appear on public informational pages such as About, Terms and similar pages.
We do not intentionally place advertisements on pages containing your private journal content, settings or PIN screen.
Referral information.
If you participate in the referral program, referral codes may be used to associate referral activity with accounts.
Referral tracking is based on referral identifiers and counts rather than requiring the sharing of your journal content.
You can request to leave.
When you request account deletion, MyJournal+ removes your user document and attempts to remove associated nested collections such as journal entries and mood records.
Deletion may be asynchronous. Backups, logs or caches may temporarily retain information while cleanup processes complete.
If you require assistance with complete data erasure, contact support.
You have control over your information.
For users in the EU / EEA.
If you are located in the EU or EEA, processing may be based on performance of a contract, consent for optional features such as notifications and AI, and legitimate interests relating to security and abuse prevention.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights relating to access, correction, erasure and portability. Contact us to exercise applicable rights.
